Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) The CDC's National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program provides a foundation for supporting effective screening and early detection of breast and cervical cancers at the state and community levels. They provide support and guidance to all 50 states, 4 U.S. territories, the District of Columbia, and 13 American Indian/Alaska Native organizations. To date, the CDC has performed over 5 million screens done through the NBCCEDP, almost 50 percent have been provided to minority women.
